Earlier this month, Nassau County Police detectives arrested Lindenhurst resident Gem Hattat and Westbury resident Jarrett Boyarsky, both 27, for their roles in a string of robberies over the course of two weeks.

According to police, at approximately 3:15 a.m. on Monday, June 21, both men were arrested after setting off an alarm at Rushmore Elementary School in Carle Place and being caught on the roof of the building.

The pair was arrested after they jumped down from the roof into the arms of awaiting officers.

Police said that the investigation into the pair found that they were responsible for multiple burglaries at area schools and businesses, where they stole musical instruments, and damaged property.

On Wednesday, June 30, the Nassau County Police Department announced the arrest of a third suspect, Brentwood resident Ulysseus Gillian-Smith, 27, who was implicated in an incident at Carle Place High School on Tuesday, June 10, when musical instruments were again stolen.

Gillian-Smith was charged with third-degree burglary, and fourth-degree grand larceny. He was held following his arrest and scheduled to be arraigned on June 30 at First District Court in Hempstead.
